Week Long Autobiographical Theatre Making Workshop

Timing: Monday 9th to Friday 13th March 2026. The day runs from 10-4pm.

Location: Brighton

Fee: £450

Join me for a week-long, pain free, brilliantly intensive course focused on autobiographical theatre making, killing procrastination, building confidence and excellent story telling.

I have been running this workshop for well over a decade. At last count over 500 artists have participated and many shows have been made and toured as a result. It is one of my favourite parts of my practice, spending a week with creatives, carefully helping them turn their life stories, their experiences, into art works. We use the week to create a show each from scratch, working towards leaving with a map of how to continue to make it a reality. Some people come knowing what they want to make/talk about, others are stuck half way through something and need my help to unpick themselves and others come with no ideas (or having never made anything) at all. All very welcome.

Suitable for theatre makers, dancers, performance artists, actors, stand ups, directors, writers, cabaret stars, circus bods: basically anyone who wants to move into telling their own stories or needs a refresh!

Quotes from past students:

‘I learnt more about making my own work and discovering myself as an artist during one week with Bryony than during my entire three-year Theatre degree.’

“Kimmings is a brilliant artist but she also has a fantastic knack for sharing her skills. If there are any magnificent ideas lying around in the sub-strata, this week-long series of kinetic exercises and mental expeditions will root them out.” - Participant 2018
