7 DAY DRUNK

Bryony Kimmings is NOT an alcoholic. But she has always had a rocky relationship with booze. It seems the dark stuff is intrinsically linked to her confidence as an artist as well as blame for most genius and most hideous creations. 2 parts song and dance routine, 1 part breakdown with a twist of sobering reality, the show follows Bryony as she cracks open her own creative psyche with the help of a film-maker, a team of scientists, carers and an American IT expert. Created solely from material made during a seven-day experiment, in which Bryony was kept in various states of scientific drunkenness. Performed sober.

SEX IDIOT

This year, following her first STI test, 29 year-old Bryony discovered she had a common sexual disease. Not one for looking back, she was faced with the arduous task of retracing her sexual footsteps. Join Bryony on a tour through her true-life sexual misadventures and self-realisations, told through vignettes of performance, dance, song and spoken word gaffer taped to some rough chat and acts of slight danger!

A funny, honest and unapologetic account of female sexuality in the 21st century this show is for anyone whose had a one-night stand and liked it, broken hearts in the search for true love and ultimately realised no (wo)man is an island.

This show is currently on the shelf after an exhausting tour and a lovely Total Theatre Award win!

MEGA

Back in 1990, hopefulproperty developers, sensing that a coming American airbase brought with it great riches, built a space-ship shaped restaurant on the side of the A14 motorway. This restaurant was called ‘Megatron’. As a 9 year-old, Bryony Kimmings remembers the hysteria this Mecca of overpriced hamburgers, complete with touch screen ordering and robot waiters, brought to her town, the lasting memory however was its sad demise. Bryony invites you to become her 9 year-old self, pull on a shell suit, grab a Walkman and embark on a trip down memory lane. This is a coming of age tale of one hot summer, schoolgirl dreams and those moments in life when the magnificent becomes the mundane.

A DATE WITH THE NIGHT
This piece was created for Antifest in Finland Sept 2011. A 1-2-1 piece that compressed an awfully messy and hidesouly drunk blind date into the length of one mega-mix of a song. From an innocent dinner, through bars, clubs, toilets, alleys and (wham bam thankyou mam) straight into bed. Bryony and her single audience member created the date together on a whirlwind of improvised small talk, lots of shots and disco dancing. Fake coke was made, dirty photos taken and when the morning cockerel crows the regret and shame just about always set in.

A wholesome 1-2-1 experience created for Cruising for Art by Brian Lobel.
